Laptop computer disposal: what we collect
-
Business laptops, notebooks and mobile workstations.
-
Desktop towers, small PCs and all-in-one computers.
-
Docking stations, keyboards and mice.
-
Hard drives and SSDs, including drives from computers that no longer work.
Sort the computers before collection
Old laptop disposal often means machines returned by different teams over several months. Check which ones are leased, which belong to you and which IT still needs. Keep those groups apart.
For laptop recycling Melbourne and computer recycling Melbourne jobs, tell us how many machines still have a drive inside. A computer that won't start can still hold data. Your IT team decides whether each drive is wiped or destroyed.
How to pack it
Keep laptops dry in boxes or crates and put desktops on pallets. Note cracked cases and missing drives. A count by type and a photo of the storage area is enough to start. Don't photograph logged-in screens or staff names.
How it works
-
Send the list. The count by type, the suburb and the site access.
-
Agree the data instruction. Your IT team says which drives are wiped and which are destroyed.
-
We collect. We count the machines with your contact on the day. The drives are wiped or destroyed as instructed, and the rest is recycled.
You get written confirmation once the drives are wiped or destroyed.
Collection, minimums and timing
Collection across metropolitan Melbourne, with delivery to our yard available by arrangement for business loads.
There is no minimum. The fee depends on the load and access, and the quote comes back by email once we have looked at what you have.
Batteries in devices
Laptops, phones and tablets can come as they are, with their batteries in. Loose, swollen or damaged lithium batteries are not taken. Tell us if any device is swollen, cracked or has been in water.
