Our e waste collection Melbourne service fits around your IT refresh, with data handled the way your IT team decides.

IT asset retirement

By asset type

Pick the type of equipment you are retiring to see what we take and how to pack it.

Apple Mac fleets

iMac, MacBook and Mac Pro fleets from Melbourne businesses, unlocked and with a data instruction agreed.

Cables, leads and power supplies

Loose business cables, leads and power adapters, once your contractor has removed any fixed wiring.

Laptops and desktop computers

Collection of business laptops and desktops, with the drives wiped or destroyed as you instruct.

Data centre and comms-room decommissioning

Retired racks and comms-room equipment, with what stays live and what goes agreed up front.

Business electrical equipment

Business electrical equipment beyond the usual office IT, checked from a list and photos first.

Hard drives and data-bearing devices

Hard drives, SSDs and built-in storage from business equipment, wiped or destroyed as you instruct.

Monitors and business screens

Office monitors, meeting-room screens and business TVs, collected and recycled.

Mobile phones and tablets

Business phone and tablet fleets, unlocked and with a data instruction agreed.

POS terminals and retail hardware

Store terminals, scanners and retail devices, once ownership and payment-provider returns are checked.

Printers and photocopiers

Desktop printers, office copiers and multifunction fleets, with any internal drives handled as you instruct.

Servers and networking equipment

Rack, blade and tower servers, storage arrays and network gear, with a drive instruction agreed.

UPS and server-room batteries

Business lead-acid strings and banks, with contractor disconnection and collection access agreed.

The problem

Retired hardware sits in a locked room while you wait for space for the new gear. The drives inside still hold company data, and nobody is sure who can sign it out.

You also have a working building. Lifts, security escorts and systems that are still live all need to be worked around on the day.

What Crex does

  1. Agree the data method. Your IT owner decides whether each group of devices is wiped or physically destroyed. We settle this before anything is booked.

  2. Get it ready. Your IT team disconnects the equipment. Keep devices that hold data apart from screens and cables, and tell us the loading route.

  3. Collect and check. We check what is loaded against your list on the day. Data is then wiped or destroyed as agreed, and the rest is recycled.

What we take

What we handle

E waste collection for Melbourne business IT

Retired business IT and electrical equipment, sorted by type.

For heavy servers or copiers, send sizes, weights and photos of the stairs, lifts and loading point. See all materials we work with.

Smaller lots can come in by e-waste drop-off by appointment, or go in e-waste bins on your site. For one or two laptops, the laptop disposal guide compares public options.

What we don't handle

  • Loose, swollen or damaged lithium batteries. Batteries inside laptops, phones and tablets can stay in.
  • Fridges, whitegoods, air conditioners and anything with refrigerant.
  • Fluorescent tubes and lamps.
  • Household e-waste. Your council has a household service for that.
  • Loose toner and ink cartridges. The printer and cartridge disposal guide lists take-back options.

What affects the price

  • How much there is: a few boxes, a pallet or a whole IT room.
  • Access: lifts, loading docks, stairs and after-hours windows.
  • What happens to the data: wiped, or drives destroyed.
  • Where the site is in Melbourne and how many pickups you need.

Every job is quoted before anything moves, so you know the cost up front.

Two ways to run it

One-off refresh

A fleet refresh or server room shutdown, collected once the new systems are running. Tell us early if more equipment is added to the list. The collection fee is quoted by load and can be waived for larger loads.

Regular collections

Suits sites that retire equipment through the year. Someone on your side keeps the equipment list up to date between visits.

Melbourne service areas

Across Melbourne, Victoria, we assess collections in Braeside, Moorabbin, Dandenong South, Clayton, Mulgrave, Bayswater, Laverton and Campbellfield. Include your suburb, loading route, induction requirements and preferred window in the scope request. Collection dates follow acceptance of the material and the access plan.

Collection arrangements

Collection across metropolitan Melbourne, with delivery to our yard available by arrangement for business loads.
